- About 'The Horizon And Beyond'
Thans to a pair of EP's for Vocoder Tapes and Lux Rec, respectively, Frederick Barbe's Cold Colors projects has been firmly on our radars throughout the last couple of years. The Frenchman's alluring take on new wave and electro is both refreshing and fun, and he's back with Nocta Numerica's new 12", the second of the label's outings since Dynarec's inaugural EP. The six tracks on offer here move and mould perfectly with another, making the release flow as one whole unit of music, rather than as disparate tunes. From "Through The Window", to "The Horizon & Beyond", and "No Way Out", Cold Colors maintains a similar tone to his music structures, the only difference being the peaks and troths of beats. The mood is grey-scaled, and the synths are angular. Not to be missed.
